The 2020 U.S. News & World Report "Best Lawyers" list ranks Brown, Brown & Young, P.A., as a Tier 1 Firm in the Baltimore Metro Area, in the concentrations of "Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs," and "Real Estate Law."

In order to qualify for ranking, a firm must have at least one attorney who has received a high enough peer review to be listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers. The "Best Law Firms" rankings are based on a combination of client feedback and information provided on a law firm survey, a law firm leaders survey, and the Best Lawyers peer review process.

Ranking by Tiers, Rather than Sequentially

The quantitative and qualitative data collected are then combined into an overall "Best Law Firms" score for each firm. Because firms are often separated by very small differences in overall score, U.S. News & World Report uses a "tier system" rather than ranking law firms sequentially; all firms are therefore adjudged to be equal within a set tier, and are listed in alphabetical order within that tier.
