Gus Brown and the Firm Repeatedly Named to "Best Lawyers in America" List
Augustus F. Brown, principal in the law firm of Brown, Brown & Young, P.A., and the firm of Brown, Brown & Young, have each earned a "Tier One Best Lawyer" AND "Best Law Firm" ranking for 2011-2012, 2012-2013 AND 2013-2014 by The Best Lawyers in America ranking company, in the area of PERSONAL INJURY LITIGATION.
Selection to Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive and rigorous peer-review survey. The results of this survey have been described by The American Lawyer as "the most respected referral list" available.
Gus's honors include being selected as a member of Baltimore's Legal Elite; being recognized as one of Maryland's Super Lawyers; and being placed on Lawdragon's list of the 3000 leading plaintiffs' lawyers in the United States.
Baltimore's Legal Elite is a function of Baltimore SmartCEO magazine, which selected 25 of Maryland's attorneys, including Gus Brown, as its "Legal Elite." Attorneys were nominated by CEOs, business owners and industry and legal experts and then evaluated by area of expertise, leadership, professional accomplishments, innovation, and relationship development.
Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 60 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Polling, research and selection are performed by Law & Politics, a publication of Key Professional Media, Inc. Law & Politics has been publishing legal magazines since 1990 and Super Lawyers since 1991.
The list, which includes Gus Brown, is published by SuperLawyers.com as a special supplement in leading newspapers and city and regional magazines across the country, including Baltimore Magazine in Maryland. Super Lawyers magazine, featuring articles about attorneys named to the Super Lawyers list, is distributed to all attorneys in the state or region, the lead corporate counsel of Russell 3000 companies, and to all ABA-approved law school libraries.
The LAWDRAGON 3000 salutes plaintiff lawyers -- as the Lawdragon web site states, "they save our lives and are the first person we call when we're in trouble."
Each year, Lawdragon asks the nation's best lawyers and their clients whom they trust with their own legal matters, leading to the assembly of the 3000 practitioners nationwide who qualified. These attorneys had to chiefly represent individuals, whether in solo or class claims of essentially any nature, toxic tort to aviation, securities class action to employment.
Once nominated, the final selection of each attorney, including Gus Brown, was based on Lawdragon's proprietary rating system that combines journalistic reporting, interviews with clients and colleagues, and a review of practice accomplishments. According to Lawdragon, this recognition "is among the most elite given for American lawyers as we award this designation to less than one-half of one percent of Americas 1.1 million lawyers."
Congratulations, Gus, on your achievements!
